During the workshop session, I performed close-up magic that captivated the 30 participants, many of whom appreciated the interactive and attentive style of my performance. The highlight was the Matching the Celebrity to the Movie trick, which generated some fantastic reactions and lively discussions. I was pleased to see how the team enjoyed the card tricks and rubber band illusions, with some even practicing them during the evening social hour.
In the evening, the party lit up with around 100 guests, and the magic truly came alive. The atmosphere was relaxed yet engaging, complemented by the venue's spacious layout. The helpful venue staff contributed to an easy to find, welcoming environment, which made mingling effortless. I brought in Starfish Selfies for the magical mirror, a feature that delighted guests and added a fun, innovative twist to the event. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive; some of the standout reactions came from Benjamin Hartley and Alex Chilmbs, who had some hilarious and astonished moments with the magic in the crowd.
Although I didn't indulge in the canapés offered, I appreciated the hospitality on offer. The overall experience at the University Arms was enhanced by its friendly staff and spacious, elegant layout, making it a perfect venue for both workshops and an after-dinner magic show.
Working alongside talented professionals like Caroline Chapple, who did a fantastic graphic recording of the entire day, made the event even more special. The combination of visual documentation and my close-up magic created a stunning, attentive, and chilled vibe that resonated perfectly with the client's expectations.
